Salt on the Rim (A project on salinity)

Fourth Year- Semester 1
Agricultural practices need to change their management methods so ecological systems can support a continuous balance between rural and natural functions. This project focuses on the Scenic Rim Region in South East QLD to display a new perspective on farm management practices and achieve healthy ecosystems unaffected by salinity.
Perspective- A vision of how both cattle farming, produce farming and the natural aspects of the landscape can work simultaneously on the one property.
Concept Diagram- Expressing all the elements of farming in Australian Landscape and the components of salinity.
These elevations show the progression of revegetating riparian systems. With more trees the ground water can be lowered to reduce salinity.
Plan and Section- Silvopastoral is the collaboration of livestock with native trees into the grazing environment
Plan and Section- Agrosilviculture is the practice of trees and shrubs grown with food crops. In this situation the types of trees grown are fruit and nut trees to keep a consistent profit for the farmers of the region.
Plan and Section- Swales were implemented into the management design to channel water flow, provide a water source on land for livestock and to balance the ground water level.
Concept Elevation- A vision on how Agrosilvipastoral would look in crops and trees.
