Cleanliness 202X

Relevance
Current Events
The growing concerns about the degradation of our ecosystem and the continuing damage being done to our environment have lead to global changes to our health and living conditions. A fast-growing Global Pandemic that drastically changed the everyday lives of all people around the world.
Adapting to these extremes is where the opportunity for innovation grows.

Concept Research
Gathering knowledge and researching multiple different market reports
created an overview of emerging trends and possible ways they correlate with consumer needs and interests.
This gives a better idea of what values and considerations should be present in the products development phase.
COVID in the Environment
Bacteria and viruses are on a microscopical level living organisms so they have the ability to build up a resistance even to some of the most harmful chemicals.
With Covid-19 Containing the spread is difficult as some people who carry the disease are typically asymptomatic and the incubation period is long, but what makes it even more difficult is that the virus spreads not only through human contact but can stay on various surfaces for long periods of time, some materials up to 5 days.

User Group & Environment
Cleanliness on a molecular level makes for a broad user group so focusing on different
environments as well as users that would benefit from the different methods of cleaning whether it be air pollution,
surface areas or climate issues. Dividing the environment into 2 main themes each with multiple sub-environments.

Direct user:
Operating and interacting
with the product deciding it´s tasks

Indirect user:
Benefits from the effect of the product
without direct interaction

Interviews & Field Study

With the pandemic they have been a lot more aware of uncommon high risk areas, especially in waiting rooms where the turnover of people are much
larger and contact areas such as furniture, magazines, water dispensers and children toys are in demand to be cleaned more often.
But because of the constant cleaning it ups the exposure and need for frequent change in surgical masks and gloves for staff.
This constant awareness and cleaning can have a negative effect on people waiting,

User Scenarios
The products' different layers are made to both work as a unit or independently of each other throughout the house. The theme of cleanliness involves a big target group. Dividing it into 2 major environments instead made it easier to figure out how the different layers can be moved around different areas as well as how the user could utilize the different functions in different sequences.
