Sustainable Block Layouts:
This was an exercise to find a sustainable block layout template for the Falkirk Hospital regeneration site. The idea was to have a barrier free access to areas to aid transition through the site to the new community hospital. The areas within the block would act as community spaces to diversify each block area within the masterplan. Each area would incorporated environmental approaches such as sustainable urban drainage, woodland areas, flower beds, especially on entry and exit, play zones, performance and gathering spaces with the gardens and balconies looking to the central area creating a defensible space.
