EN / Cipó de Jabuti is a virtual reality mini documentary about riverine communities in the Amazon Rainforest. The mini documentary has its focus on how these communities ensure well-being between people and the natural ecosystem around them, through community-based tourism. Through a community centered design process, we understood that sustainability, the reduction of inequalities and the preservation of regional traditions were the main themes of the project. By using immersive medias, like 360 film, we were able to have more empathic conversations about these topics. The documentary was selected to screen at the UN General Assembly in 2019 in New York City for world leaders and heads of state.
PT / Cipó de Jabuti é um mini documentário em realidade virtual sobre as comunidades ribeirinhas da Floresta Amazônica. Nele, enfatizamos como essas comunidades garantem um bem-viver entre as pessoas e o ecossistema ao redor delas, através do turismo de base comunitária. Por uma ação projetual voltada às comunidades, vimos que sustentabilidade, redução de desigualdades e conservação de tradições regionais eram temáticas centrais do projeto. E usando uma mídia imersiva, como o vídeo em 360, conseguimos orientar uma conversa mais empática sobre esses temas. O documentário foi um dos selecionados para ser exibido na Assembleia Geral da ONU, de 2019, em Nova York, para líderes mundiais e chefes de estado.
