With an aesthetic described as “comfortable modern”, Visual Jill Interior Design bases its design on clean, classic lines, a thoughtful yet bold use of color, and a strong belief in affordable decorating.
A Room With A View
In order to take full advantage of amazing views, Visual Jill completely redesigned the living spaces of this North Berkeley home. A sophisticated neutral color palette and furniture with clean modern lines are the foundation for the formal yet comfortable and bright living room. Pops of color, interesting textures, and ethnic accents play easily within the space, and flow harmoniously with the adjoining rooms.
Fresh green walls, a rustic dining table, and sleek modern chairs give the dining room a natural-chic feel.
The nook adjacent to the Living Room offers a fun, cozy lounge for reading, relaxing, and taking in the views.
New Kids in Town
This family of three recently moved to Berkeley from across the Bay in Marin. Visual Jill helped them settle-in to their new digs using most of their existing furniture and adding a little something new here and there. In the den, a cozy grouping of new pillows helps the guest bed double as a sofa.
We also provided color consultation for interior paint colors. The soft green of the Master Bedroom accentuated the foliage of the trees outside the window, creating a calming yet cheerful ambiance.
The pop-out window nook in the Kitchen provided the perfect spot for a small breakfast table. The Hi-Lo combination of original artwork and favorite pop-culture posters adds a playful yet sophisticated feeling.
In addition to the small size of this in-law unit, Visual Jill also had to work within a small budget for this project. Repurposing, repainting, and rearranging as much of the existing furniture as possible, we were able to bring new life into this sweet little home, and give the owner a new love for her downsized digs.
Fresh pops of color and a few new key pieces brought the small living room to life.
