Fox Vineyards is a fictional winery located in the fertile Willamette Valley, just outside the city of Portland. Named for a creature who is usually seen during the between times and spaces—at dawn and at dusk, on the edges of forests and fields—Fox Vineyards likewise thrives between the known boundaries. The winery itself is situated between town and country, and the wines it creates expertly toe the line between drinkability and complexity.
In designing a label for the vineyard, I wanted to express this sense of balance between opposing ideas. The result is an intertwining of modern design aesthetics with traditonal organic illustrations, juxtaposing the simple with the complex, the urbane with the wild.
