Tavolo is a coffee table fabricated through the process of bending and laminating layers of plywood. For this piece, the materials encourage human and object interaction by creating visual illusions through material choices of different textures and opacities. Each form can stand alone or accompany one another to configure a multitude of planar surfaces and affordances. Tavolo's ambiguity and contemporary form is intended to provoke curiosity. Tavolo's modularity allows the user to create their own forms. The concept of illusion is what carries the design of Tavolo.
