The central concept of the sequence was to 'project' the ghost of national memory (the events of 1916 culminating in the Easter Rising, and it's broader context in international events) onto poignant ordinary household objects, props and identifiable Dublin landmarks / statues. This allowed us to draw a direct link between the larger political themes of the show with the very individual, human characters living through them.
