Levi's® Haus Africa

Los Angeles. London. Tokyo. Johannesburg. The fourth of its kind in the world and the first in Africa. Haus Africa is a home for collaboration and creation. A home for originality to be birthed, moulded, shown to the world. A place to celebrate the African Creative Renaissance, by empowering those who can, to create.
The aim was to create a dynamic environment that empowered and celebrated African creators through world class creation facilities, flexible work spaces, customisation & product areas as well as dynamic catering & event space.

The design of the space needed to fuse two distinct looks - the Levi’s® brand as well as African culture.

The brand inspired the frame on which the space was designed and built, using timeless & classic forms created with timeless & classic materials while continent inspired how it came to life, using vibrant, colourful & bold soft finishings, celebrating Africa’s unique Culture.
The Space Hosts 3 key creative units:
The Studio
The Tailor Shop
The Product Experience

The Studio:

An all-round modular content space offering state of the
art content creation equipment and materials.
The Tailor-Shop:

An elevated experience of the Levi’s® Tailor Shop. Offering collaborators the opportunity to customise product using world class equipment.

The tailor-shop anchors the centre of the space featuring custom glass overhang with embedded lighting & hand painted graphics by local creator - African Ginger.
The Product Experience:

A world class, custom, Levi’s® product experience that featured iconic Levi’s® product as well as limited edition pieces, available to view exclusively in Haus Africa.

To facilitate evolving product ranges the display was built on a suspended grid with attachable fixtures which could be set up to house a variety of set ups.

The change room experience was designed as a lush, breakaway space including it’s own sound system & lighting system that guests could alter themselves.
To facilitate various experiences, the space was designed to be highly dynamic with modular fixtures & movable walls.
