Based on the quote :
“Mathematics is a wonderful mad subject, full of imagination fantasy and creativity that is
not limited by the petty details of the physical world, but only by the strength of our inner
light”
By Gregory Chaitin

This illustration is based on the quote mentioned above from the subject,
Mathematics. As mentioned in the quote the author seems to think that
mathematics is devoid of all the physical aspects of the world and it is an
inner light that beholds creativity, fantasy, and imagination. To show the
concept in the metaphorizing model I personified mathematics as a firefly,
taking into account the inner light, as it is one of the rare things which can
emit its own light. The hard glass ball around it depicts the “petty details of
the physical world”. There is a break in the glass ball so that one can only
see the part which lights up of the captured firefly, thus the illustration
translates to “ mathematics can be captured by the worlds physical aspects
as much as it can but once it breaks through, it will shine brightly upon all
those who deserve it.

Illustrations based on Science Quotes

“Some of the scientists most closely involved, and some of the most observant
philosophers of science have taken the view that the laws of nature were invented by
man ( Einstein, Bohr, Popper); not invented by man (plank); expression of the underlying
order in the world (Einstein); working models justified only by their utility ( von Neumann,
Feynman); steps on the road to complete understanding ( Feynman, Deutsch); steps on
a road that has no end( Bohr, Popper, Kuhn) .”
By Micheal Frayn

The illustration is based on the quote mentioned above taken from the subject, physics. From what I understood from the quote is that there are innumerable theories about what physics is and how it was originated but there is no fixed one. Many renowned physicists think that it was created by humans while others don’t. My illustration shows Physics, personified as a human being (using the symbol of an atom as its head), standing or rather, balancing in the middle of a ladder which is a part of the see-saw on top of a pointed pyramid. The ladder symbolizes our path towards discoveries and attainment of knowledge considering it can bend whichever way there is a greater weight i.e the weight of evidence of a theory, and then we can climb towards that path. Until a fixed theory doesn’t emerge, which is very doubtful that it will, we need to balance ourselves between all the sides.
