Constructed Narratives

Constructed Narratives
In this project we were examining the photograph's ability to convey narrative. The photograph was to be treated as an object that allows fantasy, escape and speculation as well as control. We were to consider how meanings can be established, adopted and altered through the narrative potential of tableux.

I chose to photograph my father's struggle with Alzheimers disease. The idea was to examine the ability of the photograph to tell an entire mans life story in one image. My father is surrounded by the objects he believed makes him what he is today. The image is a digital montage of approximately 50 slides shot on an RB67. This technique allowed me to gain the utmost amount of detail so that all the information in the image could be read when printed in A1 size.
