Only Yesterday (おもひでぽろぽろ) will always be my favorite Studio Ghibli movie for its simple yet beautiful storytelling. When Taeko took a trip to the countryside, she was just thinking about harvesting safflower and to get away from the city life but on her way out of Tokyo, she begins to recall memories from her childhood which made her wonder----what would have happened if she had been true to her younger self’s dreams?
