I worked directly with the founder of Clear Medicine, Dr. Natasha Turner (as seen on Dr. Oz) to create its brand identity, print collateral, administrative pieces and e-newsletter.

Project Description:
To design a website for Nickelodeon’s nickcanada.com.

Project Role:
As senior designer, it was my task to design this website. I was provided basic wireframes and on air department provided a few station identifi cation shorts for reference. From there I pulled elements together and added my own flair which resulted in a very playful and highly successful website.

Project Description:
To design the DUSK TV website.

Project Role:
My role was to design the entire website from wire frames and very little branding to work with. My designs were also used for on air. This was the first time for any network at Corus, where on air used interactive designs.

Experts Search 2010, W Network

Project Description:
To design the website for Experts Search 2010, a competitive reality TV series on W Network.

Project Role:
My design was pitched along with other concepts by the rest of the interactive design team. The stakeholders and executives chose my concept. And so I continued to design the rest of the site. I only had the show title and the images of the people to work with where I then created the military, girl guide badge infl uenced theme.

Party Packages, Treehouse TV

Project Description:
My task was to design an online party package site where one can choose or customize their party theme and print out packages.

Project Role:
I designed the site and the logic behind how the site would function. I was only provided the illustrated characters within the various party themes.

NEWvember, YTV monthly spike page

Project Description:
To design a November program listing spike page for YTV.

Project Role:
With only raw copy provided and direction to create a game drop wednesday theme with a way to reveal new game releases each day that month, I chose to create an early 80s video game inspired design. YTV loved it so much, they continued using the graphics for other portions of the site.

Project Description:
To design an April Fools/Easter spike page for YTV.

Project Role:
Based on the provided Easter Fools! title and body copy, I designed this theme to blend with the new YTV brand.

Unstable, CMT

Project Description:
To reskin a mahjong game for Country Music Television’s Canadian reality show, Unstable.

Project Role:
I designed the graphics for the game using a library of images from the show.

Treehouse TV online games

Project Description:
To reskin YTV games and write instructions for younger children to play on the Treehouse TV website.

Project Role:
For Flower Power, I designed the front end of the game, illustrated various elements, designed the game concept and chose the audio. For Ladybug Links, I designed and illustrated everything based on the existing look and feel found in so many other games on treehousetv.com.

Beyblade, Corus Entertainment

Project Description:
To reskin existing YTV Flash games to Beyblade games for the 2010 launch of beyblade.com.

Project Role:
I designed the front end for these Beyblade games by incorporating images which I selected from a large library of Beyblade branding and illustrations.

Squeezed

Project Description:
To design a Flash based website which was essentially an online catalogue and store location finder.

Project Role:
I designed the site and its logic. I hired a programmer to develop it from my designs and direction. I illustrated portions of the site to blend with an existing Squeezed brand. Squeezed later used my lotus design on their garments.

Project Description:
To design a 2wenty two days logo and Morning Coach website and magazine conceptual designs.

Project Role:
I worked directly with the CEO to create these concepts. The only thing I didn’t design was the shape of the stick body with a crescent.

Project Description:
To rebrand Synergy Pro Solutions and create marketing material to help expand the business.
Project Role:
Creative Director, Designer for the logo, website concept, print collateral, buttons, hired a copy writer and provided her with a playful theme I created to base the content on.

Project Description:
To design banner ads to combat competition.

As Senior Graphic Designer, I worked with the marketing team at Questrade to design these online banner ads for the Questrade site.

To design various elements and pages for the Questrade website and the Online Trading Academy of Canada.

Project Role:
My role as Senior Graphic and Web Designer there included working with the in house marketing team and CFO to continue building on its strong brand and online presence. I designed many random components during a short-term contract for Questrade including icon designs, graphical elements and content layout and design for some of the pages.

U Weight Loss direct mail campaigns

Project Description:
To design seasonal and special occasion direct mail pieces.

Project Role:
I created the designs, sourced and altered images into photo collages to become various themes for the individual campaigns. The copy was provided by our writer.

Project Description:
To design a testimonials coffee table book for all U Weight Loss Clinic locations.

Project Role:
I designed this book from provided testimonials and before and after shots. I also spinkled into the book images from various UWL campaigns I created.
Project Name:
Free detox & cleanse, U Weight Loss

Project Description:
To design a ballot box, ballot tickets and a landing page online to promote the free detox & cleanse campaign.

Project Role:
I sourced the images, designed the artwork and wrote the copy, “do U” and “you will receive a free detox & cleanse... it’s that simple.” I also worked with the communications director to find the right die cut for the ballot box.

Happy Feet, Scooby Doo!, Warner Bros. Canada 2006

Project Description:
To design a trade show booth for Happy Feet and a special DVD package for a Scooby-Doo! box set.

Project Role:
Given full creative freedom to run with these brands, I created what I feel are fun solutions. These were my fi rst draft concepts. They both evolved slightly.
Project Name:
Sex And The CIty and The Soproanos, HBO

Project Description:
To design a combo display for the two shows to be displayed at stores across Canada during the valentine season.

Project Role:
I created this concept with liberty to incorporate my own design elements in addition to the existing branding for the two shows. I chose to add NY cityscapes, a heart with two different themed roses to suit each show and tie together.
Project Name:
Hot Price, Poign Tes DVD Sports, Deadwood, HBO

Project Description:
To design various DVD displays to feature HBO content in stores across Canada.

Project Role:
I was given full freedom to adapt the Deadwood brand. Aside from using branding for the show, I was granted liberty to create extra elements to incorporate which you see on its display. The other displays were designed with nothing to work from except a requested theme.

300, Warner Bros. Canada

Project Description:
Sales collateral and product displays to promote the fi lm 300 at various Canadian locations including Future Shop.

Project Role:
I was given the task to design the majority of Canadian sales collateral material for the film 300. I was provided various brand elements and given permission to adapt the elements to fit various two and three dimensional designs.

Drive Line, MacKinnon Transport Inc

Project Description:
To design a new Drive Line logo and a series of multipage internal Drive Line magazines and a drivers manual for the client who is one of Canada’s 50 best managed companies.

Project Role:
I created the theme, photo collage work and illustration, the designs and layout from concept to completion within a two week stretch. I also implemented everything.

Garvey’s Fine Men’s Wear

Project Description:
To create a new look for Garvey’s print collateral which included posters and several direct mail pieces.

Project Role:
These were created via my own art direction. I chose to use architectural detailing to match the class of the designer suits along with male silhouettes and a masculine colour palette. I also wrote tag lines for the direct mail.

Truestar Health and Expedition Canada sponsorship

Project Description:
To rebrand Truestar Health’s image for usage in third party gyms. To create a banner to suspend at the welcome back ceremonies for the first ever circumnavigation of the globe by only human power by National Geographic Adventurers of the Year 2006, Julie and Colin Angus.

Project Role:
I designed the new brand based on the CEOs request and company growth. As a moonlighting liaison and media manager for Julie and Colin, I also obtained title sponsorship for their expedition from Truestar.
Project Name:
Truestar for Women

Project Description:
To create direct mailers and print collateral for Truestar for Women sales representatives.

Project Role:
I created a theme of leaping ladies which I collaged doing various activities with measuring tape. I was also responsible for layout of everything at Truestar. This particular theme set us apart greatly from our competition. Many of the designs I created at Truestar were praised by our competition through email and direct compliments and set a trend in the weight loss industry at the time.

Valentine’s and Mother’s Day direct mailers

Project Role:
I created these on very tight deadlines. It was important for me that they flow at every stage of the fold. I sourced images and collaged them together to create successful pieces which increased profi t by 20% and again the formatting was copied by some of our competition.

Truestar Health direct mailers

Project Description:
It was my task to create a new direct mail piece for a large mail blast which happened every two weeks.

Project Role:
I was usually given at most, one day to create one from concept to completion. This included thinking up an idea and sourcing imagery then blending it all together based on a simple tag line. I was only ever provided copy.

Truestar vitamin plan posters

Project Description:
To design posters for every vitamin plan offered by Truestar.

Project Role:
While the CEO wanted posters of vitamin bottles, he approved my themed concepts which placed vitamins with collaged imagery I created pertinent to each plan. I also photographed the bottles. They were a success at the CHFA show and are still used 7 years later.

Truestar Health Meet the Experts

Project Description:
To design posters and cards to promote the event using a campaign I created for a direct mail piece and magazine ads.

Project Role:
I created the imagery here and the layout. I hired a junior designer to mentor who did production work on this and all of our newspaper advertisements for the various campaigns.

Truestar TrueBAR

Project Description:
To design TrueBAR food packaging for the various protein bar flavours offered online and at Truestar for Women.

Project Role:
I worked directly with the TrueBAR manufacturer and CEO to design this packaging for our protein bars. I also photographed the products on the packaging with our own equipment and a dash of oil to enhance the decadence!

Project Description:
To design 16x16 and 32x32 icon designs for online application software.

Project Role:
My role as icon designer was required when there was an overfl ow of work for icon designs by a company I freelance for when needed.

Synergy newsletter, Truestar Health

Project Description:
To design a 2006 newsletter series to be included with all vitamin shipments to customers.

Project Role:
I quickly created this concept as a guide for our junior designer to produce a new concept. I conducted the interviews to hire the junior. He was brought on board to assist me in producing the Truestar newspaper advertisements.

PPG waterborne plaques

Project Description:
My task for this design series was to adapt and layout some existing graphic elements into nature scenes that I sourced. I later saw these designs which I created adapted to billboard designs.

PPG 2008 calendar program

Project Description:
To design a cover for a multipage program which accompanied other graphical elements including a calendar series.

Project Role:
I was the Art Director and Designer for this project. The only thing I didn’t create here are the PPG, Nexa and Teldon logos. I have also shown a portfolio website design featuring this piece that I was the Art Director for.

PPG 2007 Merchandise Catalogue

Project Description:
The client wanted a simple corporate looking layout for their catalogue of products.

Project Role:
I was the Art Director and Designer using mostly InDesign.

PPG 2008 calendars

Project Description:
To design three different 2008 PPG car calendars which will draw attention to their new water based paints.

Project Role:
I was the Art Director and Designer for this set of three different hot rod and classic car calendars I created for PPG. I sourced the cars from stock sites, created the backgrounds and designed the monthly layouts.

Vince’s Market window treatment

Project Description:
To design window murals for Vince’s Market storefront.

Project Role:
I chose to design the windows to emulate a sense of pop art. I wanted big bold brightly coloured images of healthy foods that look delicious and inviting!

Net Trax

Project Description:
To design the branding identity and retail packaging for Net Trax.

Project Role:
The client chose one of my other logo concepts, however I feel more partial to the one I am sharing here. The images I collaged so that they are not just straight untouched stock imagery which I often see happen in the industry. This is something I have done with ease for many clients.

McMaster Engineering

Project Description:
To design a series of trade show displays for the purpose of building student interest in the McMaster University Engineering programs.

Project Role:
With very little direction from the Engineering department, I designed and produced these approved initial concepts and prepared them for print.

RV Hotline, Camping Hotline

Project Description:
To redesign the joint business’s branding and identity, websites, sales and print collateral and trade show displays.

Project Role:
Creative Director and Designer working directly with the CEO. I developed an RV Hotline business plan for online ad sales that would increase RV Hotline’s profit margin. I also collaborated with the CEO to write the content.

Maids Plus

Project Description:
To create the branding identity (except for the Maids Plus logo and Sit’n Stay logo). To design a folder, business card, website, direct mail pieces, door hanger, brochure, car wrapper.

Project Role:
I designed the concept and created the illustrations to go with the playful vision I had for the brand which the client loved. I designed all the collateral for both print and web. As well, I did voice work for the website.

Reduced Packaging Initiative, Watering Solutions

Project Description:
For REarth, I created the name and the identity.
For Watering Solutions, I created the logo and design as well as how the product would be packaged.

ModDog, Pawsapalooza

Project Description:
I designed an e-commerce site for ModDog and designed the logo and collateral for Pawsapalooza.

Project Role:
Creative Director, Designer. I hired a programmer to develop the ModDog website based on my finished and properly layered photoshop files. For Pawsapalooza, I donated my design service for the cause.

Project Description:
To design a series of “You can do it, We can help.” Home Depot brochures.

For this project I worked independently and under a Creative Director who suggested a portion of the design which I also implemented.

Project Description:
Yitka hired me to design her logo, website yitkamusic.com and CD packaging for her Diplomatic Dream CD release.

Creative Director, Designer and Illustration. I did significant photo editing to the front cover photo of her since her dress clashed with the room.

Project Description:
Branding Identity, CD packaging and website design for The Double Feature Creatures on Teen Sound Records in Italy.

Project Role:
I art directed and designed everything from start to finish. I also illustrated and photographed various elements which I incorporated into the digital collage work for the design.

Project Name:
Christine Leakey - Tapping Trees in a Trinket Box of Treasure

Project Description:
Branding and CD package design with a 12 page insert, a hand sewn sleeve and art on balsa wood for the 2012 Tapping Trees in a Trinket Box of Treasure music release by Christine Leakey.

Project Role:
Using CS5, I created the entire brand and package design from start to finish. I photographed and illustrated elements and also hired two photographers to shoot the artist which I created collages from.

Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Bhajan Mandali

Project Description:
To design a three CD set for classical Indian music group from Texas, Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Bhajan Mandali.

Project Role:
I was given the main illustrations to work with and I also incorporated my own illustrative detailing from fabrics. I also laid out the design and prepared it for print as I do for any print work that I create.

Project Description:
I was a title sponsor for the Hamilton Music Scene/Awards 2004 where I designed all of their branding and collateral.
I planned the Vancouver to Moscow event and designed its collateral. Designed other samples shown as well.

Creative Director. The me graphic was commissioned by Abbey Road/EMI legend producer, Mark Wirtz. 
Phantomenon logo was designed for a band. 
Big Thinging was a play that I designed the identity and collateral for.
Project Name:
The First Toronto Fringe Jazz Festival 2002

Project Description:
In 10 weeks, it was my duty to create a 100 page website, an 80 page festival guide, several ads, brochures and a radio jingle. I managed bookkeeping and communications with the artists, volunteers and ad sales rep. In part, I chose food for the gala.

Project Name:
Great Bob Scott and Fiona Smyth websites

Project Description:
To design and create how the sites will navigate. I programmed Fiona’s but hired a developer for Great Bob Scott’s site.
I recycled Bob’s art to create his website and art directed Fiona to create specifi c pages based on my design vision.

Creative Director, Web Designer. Fiona’s was my fi rst web design in 2001 which received a web design award, led me to give a Flash in TO presentation and brought Fiona to a Taiwan arts residency.
