Kiss Band Licensed Fan Art

Greetings Back at ya with another great start to a beautiful new series.
This is something i am incredibly excited to talk about and share on Behance.  So i often create artwork.  Everyday i create something on Adobe Photoshop, my weapon of choice and 1 of my fav programs.  It is fun and what i do to make a living.  Recently I got a chance to create artwork  based on a Rock and Roll Icon, The Legendary KISS to possibly be authorized to sell online.

This partnership is actually part of the Fan Art Program on some of my favorite Print on Demand Sites (Redbubble and Tee Public to name a couple) In particular both of these sites have a pretty huge fan art program.  And they are constantly adding new Partnership.  So basically how it works is if you create for 1 of the Brands these sites are partnered with and it is "approved" (very important)   You could have a chance to sell licensed merch from some of your favorite brands and TV shows.

So my excitement came when i got the approval for these images being sold on Redbubble and likes and  sales started coming in...ooooohhhhh SNAP!!!!.

So these are the 2 that were approved on Redbubble (so far) Others were submitted to Redbubble and Tee Public but these are the ones approved so far from this particular brand.   Remember it takes time and they let you know it could be several weeks before even seen let alone  approved.  I  am super excited to share these with you and to let you know i got more coming.  From some really cool brands even some you wouldn't expect.  Just waiting on  approval and upon that i will be sharing a ton of officially licensed artwork. But until then Check out The artwork.  And follow the links it you want to purchase some artwork or You wanna share  clothing featuring the Dope Designs.

With Both images (and others in the series) the goal was to  grasp the concept of the size of KISS.  I wanted to design art in a way that showed how they are bigger than life.  Filters, textures, colors and grunge were all a big part of the series.    I was going for a vector art look with alot of grunge and decay.  I wanted "Rock Super Hero" These 2 images are the first round of approvals.  As with this Brand and others all of the artwork may not get excepted.  Learn what you can and make adjustments.    Lets take a look at some Art.
SOURCE IMAGES AND OTHER ASSETS

So with doing artwork for Brands staying on "BRAND" is VERY IMPORTANT.  It could make the differences in getting the gig or not or in this case getting approved or not.  And depending on what gets approved or not is determined by the owner of all the trademarks and such attached to the subject matter.  In every case The companies who control these properties have a list of "Do's" and "Donts" to follow for best results and to get you approved. With this one came source images.  Not all come with source images but this one did (i am happy for that)  There was alot of Hi Res images in this pack to use and i was very happy.  The Hi Res images help to start the brain storming process and also give me an amazing base to start and even finish the creation process.

Below is the source image and then what was created in Adobe Photoshop.  The effect was created with various Photoshop filters applied with different passes at different opacity.  Overlay-ed with some choice textures and the art was approved.

MORE AWAITING APPROVAL

With the approval of these there is more that still waits. When new  updates happen  more super cool  Behance posts are soon to come.
