A mixed media collage piece done a while back in 2005, on a pair of jeans. The piece was done with found objects that I found while visiting a friend in Soweto.
The piece captures and reflects the essence of (black) consumer culture in the Townships, as anyone who grew up in the township immediately identifies with a lot of the products used in the piece, such as 'Mageu' and 'Inkomazi'.
