This was an experiment using a model of a flower head instanced in a particle system. I wanted to give the impression of a dense orchard wrapped around the 3D-scanned bush from the Masterpiece of Pietà.

Overall, I am happy with several elements of the render; the colour and density of the particle system.
Should I attempt this again, I'd want to work on the collision of the flowers, to prevent intersecting and clipping petals. I'd also like to work on the compositing to reduce the noise in the render.
