Minimalism in Lockdown

For my final module of Photography in my Graphic Design Degree I decided to follow an overall theme for my portfolio as minimalism has a big influence on my design and can be seen in a lot of my work. I also found that this helped in terms of creating compositions for my portfolio. I hoped a theme would give me a direction as to what to include and to create a wholistic feel to my portfolio while still showing my skills in food photography, still life, product photography and found objects that I have learnt throughout the semester. The limitations of Covid-19 changed our learning environment but in a way cultivated creativity in the choices of subject matter, lighting and composition. For example, I chose a variety of genres that do not need models and can easily be composed of objects, food and plants from around the house due to the social distancing rules of lockdown. We also learnt skills throughout this semester for taking photogaphs at home such a diffusing natural light, creating light boxes and the importance of composition which I used to create my portfolio.
Thanks for looking :)
