Bambi as an illustration came to be, inspired by the song "Bambi" by Tokyo Police Club.
Making this illustration has been in the back of my mind for ages now, since I discovered the song, way back in 2013, when I was bewitched my the vocals, lyrics and mixing of the overall song. I finally decided to realize a long over due illustration to one of my favorite songs of all time.
The original sketch had the character smoking, to give it a more grungy vibe that was adequate to the style of the song, but once I started making the details on the deer mask, I quickly discarded it, as I wanted the red mask to be the main focus of the illustration.
