Hugo DVD Packaging
TASK
The task for this project was to create a set of DVD/Blue-Ray box packaging design for the
Criterion Collection.
CONCEPT
To start, I have chosen a movie called “Hugo”, which I was very touched and impressed when I was young. I have selected significant scenes, elements from the movie and used them as the main background for each DVD set so that the story can be delivered to the audience.
I had to analyze the movie and use the information as references to come up with relevant designs. Furthermore, I have used my custom typeface, which had to pair with the mood of the movie.
The challenging part of this project was to learn how to enhance the overall visual expression of the design topic by using objects and typography together.
