Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin, La Crosse is at the heart of Wisconsin’s Driftless Region. During the last Ice Age, when the surrounding land was scraped flat by glaciers, this area remained untouched, creating a unique bioregion. La Crosse Distilling Co., La Crosse’s first distillery was created to capture the heart and history of this region while producing handcrafted, organic field-to-glass spirits.

We designed their in-house line of experimental spirits. We wanted to create a special keepsake with the bottle and capture the true small-batch sensibilities of these limited-edition spirits.

The custom bottle was inspired by after the regions’ historic milk bottles with a cartouche of their logo incorporated into the face of the bottle and in the bottom of the bottle the message “Pure Wisconsin Spirit”. The labels were designed utilizing a desaturated blue that speaks to the water they used that is sourced locally from the region’s glacial aquifers to allow for small-batch production. The labels are digitally printed with much of the information hand-written in at the time of bottling.
