S01E02: SONIA LAZO

The second episode of this 'quarantine project' is in collaboration with Sonia Lazo, an awesome illustrator from El Salvador.
The theme they chose for their take on the end of the world was 'aliens', based of the news of the Department of Defense had declassified videos of UFOs (confirming their presence on earth).The idea behind the illustration grew around the question 'why would they be here?'. Sonia's thoughts on this concept stablished that the Aliens weren't coming for us, but to save nature FROM us. They used different phrases from popular culture, specifically, Mean Girls and X-Files and gave each one of them a comedic twist that helped the story go through. Together, we chose to go with glow-in-the-dark ink for the shirt and prints and a sparkly finish on the sticker sheet.
The collection was composed of: A long sleeve shirt with GID ink, digital print with GID ink, Sparkly Sticker Sheet and a Mixed Media piece of art.
We we're in-charge of the creative direction of the products, production, packaging, marketing, the lookbook and e-commerce strategy and execution. We're thrilled with how this came through and can't wait to collab again with them.
