On a roadtrip through the Alps with my two best buddies, one of our main goals was to visit a place called "Tre Cime di Lavaredo" or the "Three Peaks of Lavaredo", located in the Italian Dolomites. It is a giant formation of ancient rocks, reachable via a long serpentine road where the landscape slowly changes as you ascend, from a dense green forest into a rocky mountain peak, reminiscent of a scenery from a spaghetti western.
What we did not know beforehand, is that as time goes on, the landscape slowly starts showing yet another side of itself: it gradually turned cloudy and gray which - combined with the huge fields of grass and flowers around the formation - made us all feel like we had entered the mythological place of Valhalla.
