Carolina Panthers Re-Sharpened

Evolution of the Panthers
For over 25 years the Carolina Panthers have become a storied NFL franchise, amounting to 2 super bowl appearances, and featuring all-pros like Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, and Cam Newton. In 1995, the debut home uniform was a black jersey with a wide blue shoulder stripe trimmed in silver, and the Panthers logo on the sleeves. Paired with a silver helmet and pants, this exact set has stayed in rotation for over two decades. Through changing new uniform contracts and the evolving technology of sports uniforms the Panthers standard shoulder stripe has become outdated and disproportioned to the shoulder numbers and collar detailing. Under the new regime of owner, Dave Tepper and head coach, Matt Rhule, it’s the perfect time for the Panthers to re-sharpen their claws. Below is my concept, hope you enjoy.

The Concept
Stealth – Helmet
So powerful, yet so mysterious, the black panther’s dark fur allows them to seamlessly camouflage with their surroundings, while their excellent eyesight and sense of smell help them hunt nocturnally. The new uniform features an all black helmet, equipping players with the natural instincts of a black panther.
Agility – Numbers
The black panther is one of the most agile apex predators, with the ability to leap 20ft into trees, and swim across rivers. A new sleek dynamic number set features a mixture of angles and curves complimenting the Panthers swiftness in the wild.
Speed – Jersey Stripe
Whether on the prowl or in the NFL, speed is paramount. The updated uniform features two crossing gestural shoulder lines that bleed onto the front and back of the jersey. The two separate colors represents North and South Carolina, further cementing the Panthers role as Carolina's team.
