Polestar 480.2
What if the Precept turned into an electric version of the legendary Volvo 480?
The Volvo 480, the brand's first sporty car after the P1800, stood out for its unusual looks and attitude. And for its pop-up headlights.
Besides the pop-up headlights, the 480 had very distinctive design features, such as the side trims at bumper height, a maximised DLO in a hatchback package, with a tailgate that blended into the rear of the car.

So how would these features be reinterpreted in the Precept?
The wheelbase was reduced to enable a balanced 3-door hatchback layout. Also, dash-to-axle was slightly reduced. This produced an asymmetry in the rocker area that conveys a dynamic attitude and resembles the original 480.
A C-Pillar took shape at the rear, defining the rear-most edge of the DLO.
The tailgate is now a black/glazed element, flanked by enlarged outlet grilles on either side.
A groove was added in the body side as a homage to the striking image of the 480. It houses the smart areas and a subtle coloured character line like its predecessor.

Given the leisure-oriented attitude of the 480.2, the roof is composed by a series of retractable blinds that slide all the way to the back.

The Pop-Up Headlights
The hidden headlights had to be reinterpreted into the Precept's design. Instead of one single headlamp, the 480.2 features a three-stage pop-up sequence, revealing one light cluster under each lid.
