'Upon Drowning' (2020)

The tension took over my fingers and even though I was being careful I spilled my coffee. Instead of expressing any emotion, I stood looking at the coffee on the ground. Its abstract flow was so beautifully shaped that one could trace the outline of a face. Next thing I knew I was painting...Upon Drowning is a piece that presents the fine line between creation, inspiration, productivity and the tension from the deadlines that your routine places in your life. I had reached the point of feeling the eagerness of my fingers to be dipped in acrylic yet I had to repress it...and the more I would repress it, the more ideas would overwhelm my mind. I ended up being so preoccupied with repressing inspiration that I never noticed I was drowning.
