Self sustaining Smart City

The prevailing CoViD-19 pandemic is imposing devastating health
and social costs worldwide. At the same time, the climate emergency
demands urgent and resolute action. According to welovetheearth.org
"If we don’t make massive changes to our behavior over the next twelve
years, the damage we’ve done to this planet will be irreversible." But
the power to prevent this is in our hands! The CoViD-19 recovery must be
green. We can save the Earth!!!
We propose the development of self-sustaining smart cities which will
help us overcome the aforementioned problems. Using Bio engineering,
Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence, we have targeted all
the major global problems-  Energy(switching to third and fourth
generation Biofuels, smart homes to minimize the waste of energy),
Nature(reducing the carbon footprint by- Carbon dioxide sequestration,
Carbon farming, intelligent systems, switching to a plant-based diet),
Food(No processed-food, switching to a plant-based diet and efficient
production of artificial meat using 3-D printing). Micro algae can
efficiently remove CO 2 through the rapid production of algal biomass.
Besides, micro algae have the potential to be used in wastewater
treatment. We propose an integrated strategy to fix CO 2 levels in the
atmosphere, treatment of wastewater, and production of bio fuel i.e.
algae.
Other notable Engineering solutions proposed are regular use of
Bio wearable(to keep our pH, salt concentration, blood levels and
temperature in check) and in case of any anomaly visiting the medical
facility(self-check-in based) and getting precision medicine with the
help of sequencing data, Bio protective clothing material(affordable and
efficient antimicrobial clothing to prevent any future pandemic), and
Drone-based delivery systems, Mobile workplaces, Smart homes,
Self-driving cars, Intelligent Traffic Management system for an
improvement in the standard of living.
