Since some month ago I´m thinking of replacing my photo on social networks with a self-portrait that contains all of my design, illustration and animation career symbolism.
I have made the first sketches in my book, thinking how order the symbolism, and trying some different configuration and notes. I want to do my head like I paint when I was young, imitating the 70`s draw style, especially in the comics of Science Fiction and Terror, with actors like Richard Corven. The light style was intimately associated with this peculiar underground style.
The symbolism represents my actual work, you have used CMYK boxes, with my lovely Bodoni Type, to represent the Editorial design that I love, and the animation that I have made in the past. To that you have made some animation illusion in the boxes. You have also worked whit typographically and I have created myself "me" with my special A3 Wacom Intuos 3. For me the tablet is very important to design my own typography. I want to use "ME" word because is very similar to my zodiac "Virgo" (the virgin) (ml).
I have used virgin constellation to represent the "voyage to fantasy", another important thing in my life, the book, comics or movies that I like are often represented like a fantasy voyage. Not only with Science Fiction books or movies, it wants to represent the knowledge like a voyage, in the world and in the society.
Finally I have added some images from the creation process, and my heavy used Intuos with an A4 inside with the popular and funny Periodic Table of Typefaces. (Copyrigth of the author)
