The parked car sometimes takes up a lot of space in public spaces. This results in streets with less space for greenery, play areas or meeting places, also in Groningen. The municipality of Groningen wants to give the street space by means of a good and balanced parking policy, and - where this is the case - to reduce the dominance of parking. This way we can offer more space for a different use of the street. We have dubbed this vision "Ruimte voor de straat - parkeren in een levende stad" / "Space for the street - parking in the living city".
