PROCREATE BRUSH SERIES - Portraits
In this series of portraits I wanted to find the perfect painterly brush in Procreate and try out different looks. Each portrait is done using only the specific brush!
So far I love the variety - it just goes to show how many different looks you can create with your digital medium!
DRY BRUSH - This brush has a very soft and airbrushed look, there is not a lot of the painterly texture I was looking for but it might be a step up if you are used to quite a blended look.
TAMAR - This brush is super textured and the end result has a great look,
but it is quite hard to control.
SALAMANCA - This brush is an old favorite of mine! Although the end result can be quite soft and blended - depending how long you work on it - I love the built in canvas texture that this brush gives! It's a great one if you want to start introducing more texture into your digital paintings.
OIL BRUSH - This brush is probably my favorite one that i found so far through this experiment. It gives one of the most "realistic" paint textures in my opinion, but it is a little bit tough to work with at first. I actually had to fiddle with the pressure settings in the brush menu to make it easier for me. But now i love it!
QUOLL - This one is super fun! Its not a brush I would use on a day to day basis as it is a little bit tough to control but i loved experimenting with it and I think the end result is quite unique! (This one is not in the paint section but in the artistic section)
NIKKO RULL - This one really surprised me! I was not expecting to get along so well. I love the thick painterly texture this one has and I would absolutely recommend giving it a go if you haven't yet!
Thanks for scrolling!
