This is one of the most familiar and recognizable universities in Poland, and without a doubt the most established military university. The legendary “School of the Eaglets” has been educating military and civilian pilots, navigators, and aviation staff for 95 years.

Due to changing conditions of the educational market, as well as the demographic decline, the authorities of this prestigious, or even elite university decided to put more emphasis on the advertising, which needed a new, organised visual identity marketed for the younger audience. The decision to refresh the image was further facilitated by the change of the university name from Polish Air Force Academy to Military University of Aviation.

The logo and University's visual identity design was based upon the Air Force chequerboard – a universal, unique and distinctive mark of Polish Air Force, establishing a clear-cut connection to the Polish military aviation.

The chequerboard has been the symbol of Polish military aviation for over 100 years of its history. By referring to it, we wanted to highlight the University’s work and honour its contributions to the Polish Air Force.


The signet of Military University of Aviation is comprised of red squares of the chequerboard and the LAW letters (polish abbreviation of MUA) based on its red outlines. As a whole, it has a modern, dynamic, and strong look expressing the University’s work.


The visual identification is directly linked with the University logo. Its main constituent is a triangle, called a differentiator or a nose, on which the design is directed and organised. It is derived directly from the signet. And it is a reference to the nose of an aircraft, the front-most part of the fuselage ensuring the aerodynamic flow of air currents.

Because of the variety of content and topics covered by the University, the identification is flexible and allows for rather free modification of its constituents.

For the purposes of advertising, we also devised a slogan referring to the University’s purpose – aviation – as well as the ambitious goals that MUA has set out to achieve.


In addition to the advertising line, we also devised the Rector’s line with the use of traditional symbols of “The School of the Eaglets” – its emblem and the Memorial of “Heroic Airmen of Dęblin's School of the Eaglets.” The line was designed for the Rector-Commandant of Military University of Aviation for representative purposes. Materials of this line will be handed to the supreme representatives of national and foreign states during their service visits in the nation and abroad.
