Ponte de Lima is a Portuguese town in the district of Viana do Castelo, northern region and subregion of the Minho-Lima, with about 2800 inhabitants. It is characterized by its medieval architecture and the surrounding area, watered by the River Lima.It is the seat of a municipality with 320.26 km ² and 44,421 inhabitants (2009), subdivided into 51 parishes. The municipality is bordered to the north by the municipality of Paredes de Coura, east of Arcos de Valdevez and Ponte da Barca, southeast of Vila Verde, south of Barcelos, on the west by Viana do Castelo and Caminha and northwest by Cerveira .
Once a year are held religious festivals of Ponte de Lima, known as Feiras Novas. That was the day of festivity that I visited the town.
