Student Interview for CMU's Civil and Environmental Engineering
My Role: Team Leader and Editor
Team Members: Jailyn Zabala, Mireille Mobley, Gabe Bamforth
Year: Fall 2019

Overview: The Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Carnegie Mellon University wanted a short video to showcase how students in their program can participate in athletics while maintaining a rigorous academic curriculum.
Challenge: Because academics at prestigious universities are difficult and time-consuming, there is a misconception that students in these programs don't participate in extracurriculars. This video needed to provide a testimonial from a student who was successfully balancing athletics and academics in order to recruit students who were interested in joining teams during their academic careers.
Approach: We wanted to fill the video with lots of dynamic b-roll to capture the active spirit of the student we were assigned, and we opened with one of our subject jumping into the diving pool with a go-pro. The interview was focused on how Gabe's participation in both the diving team and the CEE department benefited each other and contributed to his success at CMU.
