The Comet NEOWISE hanged in the dawning sky right above Mount. Erciyes last night, putting up an eye-catching scene in spite of the light from the waning gibbous illuminating at %69. The crown jewel of the summer dawn Venus rose from the horizon with its ever companion Aldebaran, which translates to “the follower” in Arabic. Between the comet and Venus, Auriga the Charioteer could be seen.

The comet was an unexpected observation, which I did not see with naked eye until I took the photo and saw its magnificent tail of light over the dashing silhouette of Mount. Erciyes. Once I spotted it in the photo, I could see it with an unaided eye, only slightly dim due to the light of the moon. Good news is that it will be a new moon in a week and this picturesque scene of Venus, the Comet NEOWISE and Auriga will be even more appealing to the eye.
