I’m really excited to be a 2020 Adobe Recipient for the Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund Projects for 2020 #adoberesidency and thrilled to be part of the Adobe Illustrator BETA team for Adobe Illustrator on the iPad. #illustratoronipad
My Concept for my personal project:
Batman fan art poster, size AO.
To celebrate 80 Years of the Batman (2019). 80 Years of the Joker (2020) and the birth of Adobe Illustrator on the iPad (2019/2020).
I took the comic cover Batman #251 - The Jokers Five-Way Revenge! released by DC Comics on September 1973 and turned it into a modern digital version with a twist.
The original cover had The Joker holding an Ace playing card with Batman on it.
So I changed this to The Joker holding an iPad (modern technology) with Batman imprisoned inside, but showing Batman smashing his way out of the iPad. By using a variety of techniques, tools in Adobe Illustrator for the iPad.
Also added more characters from Batman.
E.g. Catwoman (80 Years-2020) and Harley Quinn.
Sketch to line art (black & white), grey version and then colour.
Tools Used:
Tools panel: - Pen, Pencil, Selection Tool, Direct Selection Tool, Creating swatches, saving swatches, Eyedropper tool, Gradients.
Properties panel: - Transform, Appearance (opacity).
Combine Shapes panel: - Shape Builder, Combine All, Divide All, Convert to Path.
Edit panel: - Copy, Paste.
Align panel: - Alignment, Flip.
Object panel: - Make Clipping Mask.
Type panel: - Outline Type.
I thought it fitted the bill having an iPad in the scene and creating the design on the BETA version of Adobe Illustrator on iPad.
Congratulations to Adobe Illustrator for inspiring myself and others who express their feelings and aspirations through the love of art and design using the power of Adobe Illustrator on the iPad.

For the front of the playing card I took some elements from the poster design, for the back design I used the new Grid Repeat tool that's in the Adobe Illustrator for iPad.
Thank You!
So much for taking the time out to look at my project.
