Teaser Art and Cross Sell Sheet
After wrapping up Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Marvel Super Heroes project followed shortly after. Here are a couple of initial concepts for the teaser comp, but eventually, they went more with closeup character faces in the final rendering. Fortunately, this idea was resurrected for the print ad as the project progressed.

Final Teaser Ad

Awhile later, I was surprised to find out that they actually constructed a wall banner using just lego blocks recreating the same image of the teaser ad. I stumbled on the above pic from the Marvel.com site. I believe this was used at E3 2013 trade show.
Game Informer Magazine Content
The fun begins. Below are some brainstorm thumbnails of character poses followed by cleaner sketches for approval before going to render. Humor was encouraged for these poses, but Marvel decided to push back on that. Oh well.

Chicken scratch thumbnails.

Cutting room floor concepts.

Fun sketch but no deal.

Hulk

Ironman

Captain America

Deadpool

Wolverine

Thor

Loki

Blackwidow

Spiderman

This (Story Time) piece is one of my favorites and was a joy to work on. This was also one of the pieces in which both my concepts and final execution went through the first-round approval process without a hitch. Things like this only happens once in a blue moon.
