Cancer Visualization
From simulator to screen
It all started from a simple simulator, where tumor species is modeled and tracked by biological rules. And then we moved to add angiogenesis network, and then we added multiple tumor species with different phenotype, and the then we added ... And then we stopped.

We moved back to start making individual functionality module, since we're planning to share this "mass library" with more collaborators who want to know if their hypnosis works by simple tuning parameters available in the simulator.

So here it is, a tumor framework which users (researchers & physicians) can set the paramter, run the simulator, plot the result and interpret the meaning of the outcome, all in one package.

You can think of our framework as a factory or pipeline of producing tumors or cancer species, where three major components are designed accordingly: Simulator, Post-processor, and Visualizer. Each component are stand-alone in itself and link to each other only through Common Data Format, which gives flexibility to expand this framework in various directions.

Awards:
This award winning cancer visualization pipeline has been published in front cover of journal Nonlinearity vol.23 and front cover of Cambridge book “Multscale Modeling of Cancer”, and interviewed by KUHF.FM 88.77 (Houston Public Radio), and MedicalPhysicsWeb.Org published by IOP publishing.
