Jamal Daniel builds upon more than 30 years in investment management as the chairman of Crest Investment Company. Also the chairman of The Levant Foundation, Jamal Daniel spearheads the production of socially relevant motion pictures for Levantine Films.

In its eight years of active film production, Levantine Films has garnered a number of significant industry honors. Its early successes include Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation, which won both the Cinema for Peace Award and the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the 72nd Venice Film Festival.

Levantine Films released Hidden Figures, its most critically acclaimed film, in 2016. Hidden Figures garnered three Academy Award nominations, including a nomination for Best Picture. Its other major industry honors include a win in the “Outstanding Performance by a Cast” category at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Levantine Films’ latest feature, Blinded by the Light, won the Paul Mazursky Award at the Traverse City Film Festival and the Truly Moving Picture Award from Heartland Film. Blinded by the Light also earned nominations from the London Film Critics’ Circle and the Hollywood Critics Association.
