“The Eatcyclopedia 2021” is how I got the name from Encyclopedia with the meaning of this calendar as a dictionary of culinary culture & uniqueness of Vietnam. In the hope of promoting a culinary background Vietnamese to the world with more variety.
I am a Vietnamese myself with a strong passion for Vietnamese cuisine.
I come up with an idea that why not introduce the dishes of each region and stick with the according pattern, in order to honor cultural identity “The Eatcyclopedia 2021” includes a combination of textures,, pattern and cuisine of each region of Vietnam.

Requirements:
1. The calendar must carry both culinary images and regional patterns and must be balanced, equally and variety.
2. Must be able to tell diversity in culture, colors - typical of the region, depending on the region into each local culinary culture.

Potential solutions:
1. Use a simple layout to show focus and gravitation on patterns and foods. Place on circles to show balance & symmetry.
2. In order to show the cultural style of the region, I will divide the calendar into three parts according to three main regions, namely Hanoi, Hue and Saigon, with three distinct colors and personalities.

Hanoi - one of the first citadel of Vietnamese people. I want to design the color tones of the pages of the Hanoi calendar rustic style, light and delicate. The sophistication of Hanoi people will be gently expressed through the carved patterns on the citadel, the capital with long-standing dishes and specialties such as pho, noodle soup with shrimp paste, vermicelli and banh cuon.
Hue - one of the last palace cultures in Vietnam. In Hue, we realize that nobility are not in gold and silver, not in the majesty but in the colors, velvet and silk belong to the people of that time. For that my inspiration in Hue is the colorful bow and arrow colors along with dragon, bat, phoenix, sea all bring happiness, fortune & blessings to those who wear it, those who know how to admire it
Saigon, also known as Ho Chi Minh City, is currently a city with strong economic growth, along with the high level of entertainment and tourism aspects even though the city has only appeared for a few hundred years. This shows the development potential of the city . Looking at that, I want the last pages of the “2021 Eatcyclopedia” to be full of vibrant colors & bright, cheerful, youthful. There are no longer the colors & calm of Hanoi or the colorfulness of Hue but the freshness, the color & the change of Saigon, of the city, of us.
