Hospitality Health ER - A History of Caring Patients

Jeanne Shipp has worked as a registered nurse and medical administrator for 15 years. In 2014, she co-founded the family-owned Patients Emergency Room in Baytown, Texas, followed by several Hospitality Health ER branches in Longview, Tyler, and Galveston. At all of these innovative, freestanding ER facilities, Jeanne Shipp and her team focus on providing the highest possible quality of medical care in a warm, comforting atmosphere that makes patients feel like family.

Hospitality Health was a dream at first, based on its founders’ in-depth experience as hospital staff members. Working in a big, busy hospital gave them little time to get to know individual patients and making sure they had everything they needed, so they decided to open their own freestanding ER.

After their hospital shifts were over, the team would spend long nights poring over business plans and strategies, developing their first medical facility as a labor of love.

The first Hospitality Health ER opened in their hometown of Longview, and their first patients were family and friends. The atmosphere of personalized care has carried over throughout the expansion of the business, with the entire team working to make what is normally an anxiety-inducing (or even frightening) experience as positive as they possibly can.

The team works to see each situation through the patient’s point of view, understanding that patients don’t want to spend time in an ER when they have busy lives to go back to. Hospitality Health leaders work right alongside their staff, always ready to lend a hand or answer a question. This commitment shows in the quality of care they provide, with everyone understanding that their job is to get patients properly cared for and back to their normal lives as quickly as possible.
