The story
You just touched down, eager to hit the city streets. But that familiar knot of worry tightens in your stomach. Where's your bag? Stuck on the plane? Lost in baggage purgatory? The frustration of the unknown.
Wouldn't it be amazing to ditch the carousel chaos? That's where my idea comes in. Imagine an app that acts like a personal luggage tracker, whispering sweet nothings about your bag's whereabouts.

I started by researching existing baggage tracking options and what technology could be used. Inspired by Delta's RFID app, I designed a multi-layered app offering different tracking methods:
1. A basic level for universal functionality.
2. An enhanced mode utilizing RFID for compatible airports (like Delta's app).
3. An optional GPS tracking device (purchased separately) for lost luggage situations.
After solidifying the concept, I sketched the interface and then built high-fidelity mockups in Axure. This was a personal project exploring the potential for a more comprehensive luggage tracking solution. While it doesn't exist yet, hopefully, similar options will be available in the future!
How this works?
Imagine you just landed, tired but excited for your trip. The last thing you want is to fight for a spot by the baggage carousel, squinting for your lonely suitcase. But what if there was a better way?
Enter this handy app! It's your personal luggage whisperer, working its magic in two ways. For starters, simply enter your flight number. The app chats with the airport system (think secret handshake!), revealing when your bags are ready for pick-up. No more nervous scanning the carousel – the app lets you know exactly when it's time to grab your things and head out for adventure.
But wait, there's more! Some airports are tech-savvy, equipped with RFID systems. If you're lucky enough to be at one of these, the app can truly shine. Just add your bag tag, and boom! You'll get real-time updates on your luggage's location, just like Delta's app. No more endless waiting – ditch the carousel and enjoy a stress-free arrival.
Still worried about a rogue suitcase taking a detour? This app has an ace up its sleeve – an optional GPS tracker. Pop it in your bag, connect it to the app, and voila! You can see your luggage's location on a map, like a digital guardian angel. Plus, the app can even send you alerts when your bag is nearby. So grab a coffee, relax, and let the app do the worrying – it's baggage claim bliss!
