neospoon AR*/BCI* Neurofeedback Game
neospoon is the project with which we won the second place in programming category in the Global BR41N.io Brain-Computer Interface Designers Hackathon 2020, organized by g.tec medical engineering GmbH and IEEE Brain.
Our team, Christian Michael Gnerlich, Rajshekar Reddy and I, collaborated virtually for 24 hours to develop an AR/BCI Neurofeedback Game concept in which you bend a virtual spoon with your mind with a neurotechnological device.
Our team, Christian Michael Gnerlich, Rajshekar Reddy and I, collaborated virtually for 24 hours to develop an AR/BCI Neurofeedback Game concept in which you bend a virtual spoon with your mind with a neurotechnological device.
The protocol implemented was the Theta/Beta band power ratio obtained from the EEG signals of the brain. The project was explicitly designed to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. By relaxing and focusing on the spoon, they are awarded with positive feedback, i.e. the spoon bending. This, in turn, rewires their brainwaves to be calmer and consequently mitigates the symptoms of ADHD.
