Showcasing Disruptive Technologies—One Event At A Time
VLAB / MIT Enterprise Forum Event Blurbs
Background: VLAB, the former Bay Area Chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum, produced monthly events showcasing emerging technologies. Teams of volunteers championed a variety of topics for a moderated panel discussion featuring startups, an established company in the space, and a venture capitalist who invests in the space.
The Project: As a volulnteer, I was actively involved in organizing 13 events from the initial market research to interviewing and selecting panelists. I led the marketing team for 39 monthly VLAB events, working closely with the event production teams to understand what made the topics interesting to our audience. I wrote the event blurbs and selected the event graphics that were featured on the website, in social media, and in the event brochure. I collaborated with event teams to ensure that the event description fit the vision about disruptions these emerging technologies would bring to industries.
