To promote the upcoming season of the most popular new show on cable television – Vikings – History Channel went to where the geeks are. The San Diego Comic-Con. I helped History create an entire Vikings-inspired village and waterway. The interactive experience featured a Feasting Hall decorated with faux animal skins printed with the show's cast members and various photo-op areas. The most popular attraction was the longboat races where convention-goers could cool off and compete for prizes (not to mention nerd bragging rights) based on the best paddling times. The event received press from several local media outlets, the LA Times and a live blog feed event with the Huffington Post.
