The Project called for the design of the initial stages for a Holistic Living Centre at the Lazzaretto of San Rocco on Manoel Island in Malta. The Lazzaretto was the main quarantine hospital built in various stages by the Knights of St. John and the new functions proposes to revitalize the complex with this new function. Given the proposed function it was vital to link all the spaces by the architectural elements to cater for the various functions. This character of the elements sought to recreate the spaces lost during the Second World War with contemporary interventions that recall their volumes and proportions thus respecting the memory of the Lazzaretto. Thus the harmony of continuity is achieved as the new and old form a complex dialogue.
