#ChildNotBride | The story behind the image

*recently updated 26/01/2015

Introduction: #ChildNotBride is a Civil Movement that was birthed on twitter, as a reaction to the recent Constitutional Review carried out by the Nigerian Senate on the issue of Child Marriage.

Brief: Actually, there was no brief. All I got was a Direct Message (DM) from @dupekilla on twitter, and all it pretty much said was that they needed an image for the campaign. No other detail was provided.

The image just went viral, It was everywhere. People tweeted it, used it as display pictures online and on mobile devices. It was printed as flyers, and thus it became the symbol of the campaign.

Initial ideas...
Finally design in monochrome...
A touch of red did the magic...
CONCEPT: A girl child caught in the sniper's crosshair. Marrying a girl off as a child bride will kill her dreams
and destroy her future. It is as good her killing her.
Below is a collection of some of the designs done by other Creatives that carried the image I created.

On Saturday, concerned citizens came out to register their support for the cause by signing a petition, and yours truly (Me) signed the dotted line too...
