Many years ago, when my grandmother was asked to tell us a fairy tale, she was always happy to oblige. Every tale started with the following charming words. “κόκκινη κλωστή δεμένη, στην ανέμη τυλιγμένη, δώστης κλώτσο να γυρίσει, παραμύθι ν’ αρχινίσει…” “red thread wrapped around a loom, give it a swift kick to spin & let the fairy tale begin…” In a similar manner, this custom invitation is handmade from start to finish & tells the story of the couple (meeting & falling in love). The red thread is actually wrapped around the closed invitation and when unwrapped reveals the story inside. The thread stays tide with the envelope, thus implying a bond (continuation) of the fairy tale itself & real life stories. At the same time the invitation doubles as a guessing game, because in every panel there is a missing word that has to be filled in. Doing so, the story becomes complete & makes sense. Visually clues for the missing words, can easily be found in each of the illustrated folds. Read Less
