This lamp is the first of a set of three different mood lights based around a ‘smiley faces’ or ‘emoticons’. The use of these simple emoticons have become a huge part of everyday life in Instant Messaging circles, SMS's and emails. :)
Looking at a plain white sphere it is easy to picture a smile on that spere.

The photographed prototype was made with components purchased from hardware stores, however further manufactured lamps will utilise several components purchased from thrift/hospice/charity stores. The purchasing of these items supports local charities as apposed to standard hardware stores.
