Frederik Cilliers started his in career in 2005 in comics and animation and after that moved into publishing at Media24. In 2009 he joined the Cape Town office of Ogilvy & Mather as Head of Design at OgilvyOne. Cilliers played a pivotal role in award-winning work for the agency including Send Your Facebook Profile to Cape Town for Cape Town Tourism, which, in 2013, received a Gold Cannes Lion for Branded Content and entertainment. Other work included #AudiA3Exchange for Audi which was heralded at the Bookmarks and Volkswagen’s Street Quest which received the coveted Grand Prix award at the Annual Loerie Awards. Fred has received a number of international accolades including awards at Cannes, Clio Awards, OneShow Interactive and his work has been featured in the Communication Arts Interactive Annual.

He subsequently relocated to Germany to take up a senior position at BBDO Proximity in Düsseldorf. Fred was working on the development and roll-out of a global, through-the-line brand repositioning for several ITG brands. He decided to head back to sunny South Africa to join the talented Gloo@Ogilvy team as Creative Director in October 2015 and is seen to be a key player in pushing integration within the agency.
