Frances Alvarez is a graphic designer and illustrator from Manila.
She has just finished an internship at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, under the Bartels Scientific Illustration Internship Program (July-Dec 2015). Her projects are focused on conservation education for the critically endangered Philippine Eagle.
Prior to her internship, she has worked full-time with Studio Dialogo, specializing in corporate identity, user interface, and illustration. Other groups she is part of are Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan, an organization of Filipino artists dedicated to the creation and promotion of illustration for children, and Speculiars, a local craft group.
Frances' work has been published by Adarna House, The Philippine Star, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), ELLE Decor Philippines, and Summit Media. Read Less
