Jens is a Senior Designer and Brand Strategist who joined IDEO in early 2011. Based in the Munich office Jens is part of the brand team mainly focusing on strategic communication design assignments that include interfaces, corporate identities, brand strategy, service design as well as user experiences for all kinds of industries.
Jens is very passionate about telling sticky stories and design around them to bring visionary ideas to life. His projects have ranged from repositioning a global lifestyle bag brand to designing around a new E-Mobility offer for a german car manufacturer.
More recently Jens joined the IDEO Singapore office to help a global oil and gas company innovate their core business.
Before joining IDEO Jens worked as a freelance designer for almost a decade. His passion and ambition for design have led him to Milan, Italy where he joined the team of Michele de Lucchi as an Art Director and designed for clients like Poltrona Frau, Alias, the Italian Post and Mövenpick. He also collaborated closely with the italian VideoArt Studio N!03 which helped Jens to become an expert in complex multimedia and web design projects. Together with Studio N!03 he developed award-winning multimedia experiences and interactive events for museums and other public spaces.
Jens studied Communication Design in Hamburg, Germany and first got in touch with graphic design as a Layout Assistent for the business magazine 'brand eins' which is well-known for its simple and curated editorial design.
Jens speaks three different languages fluently (including italian) and has won several awards for his editorial and web design work such as the italian eCulture Award, the American LACP Award and got a german Lead Awards nomination.
